The Society of Authors and Publishers (SGAE) is the main collecting society for songwriters, composers and music publishers in Spain.
SGAE (Sociedad General de Autores y Editores) was founded in 1889 to manage rights of Authors and music publishers. SGAE deals with more than 100 000 music, audiovisual and dramatic creators today. SGEA is set to protect its member’s rights for the use of their work throughout the world, insuring them a remuneration, including public communication reproduction, music distribution, transformation and private copyrighting. SGAE is a private entity that is looking to develop a defense and a collective management of the intellectual property.
