JASRAC

The Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC) is a Japanese copyright collection society and the largest musical copyright administration society in Japan.

The Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC) was founded 1939 as a non-profit organization. JASRAC’s main activity is acting as a trustee of copyright, including performing rights for artists and music publishers. JASRAC manages licenses for music users, collects licensing fees and distributes rights to rights holders.  In this fast-changing copyright administration environment, JASRAC, with the public trust and knowhow that have been cultivated for more than seven decades, is committed to develop a comprehensive range of service, using a variety of databases and licensing systems, that will satisfy the needs of both copyright owners and music users.
