The Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency Ltd (CMRRA) is a Toronto-based music licensing agency.
The Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency (CMRRA) was founded in 1975, as a licensing collective, representing rights holders (multinational artists and music publishers). The CMRRA issues licenses to individuals and organizations for the reproduction of tracks. The CMRRA administers the vast majority of recorded sounds, sold and broadcast in Canada. The royalty rates are determined by the Copyright Board of Canada, and are taken in account by the CMRRA to redistribute them to their members. The CMRRA licenses and collects royalties for Mechanical licensing, online music licensing, broadcast mechanical licensing, private copying and audiovisual post-synchronization licensing.
Canada's leading reproduction rights agency working with music publishers and self-published songwriters to collect reproduction royalties in Canada.
